A proud child of immigrants, Anita hails from Maryland and has lived in Atlanta since 2012. She graduated from the University of Georgia’s Master of Social Work program in May 2024, earning Graduate Certificates in Marriage and Family Counseling and Substance Use Counseling. Additionally, she holds a Master’s Degree in Health Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland.
With over 20 years of experience in the federal sector, Anita recently concluded a successful public health career at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she worked on the COVID-19 pandemic response. Her interest in mental health therapy grew from her desire to make a more personal impact in her community.
Anita works primarily with adolescents, young adults, and adults facing challenges such as depression, trauma, stress, anxiety, addictions, relationship issues, career concerns, and life transitions. She also works with couples and families on a case-by-case basis. Anita utilizes a combination of evidence-based therapeutic models, including client-centered, strength-based, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapies. She is an LGBTQIA+ affirming and culturally sensitive therapist dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment where clients can navigate life’s challenges and strive for their best selves.
In her free time, Anita enjoys traveling and spending time with loved ones, including playing with her new rescue puppy.
