Daniel Caneda (He/Him/His) is originally from Augusta, GA, and has called Athens, GA, home since 2001. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Georgia. With 10 years of experience in the mental health field, Daniel has worked in community mental health, psychiatry, and substance abuse settings.
Daniel works with a wide range of clients facing challenges such as grief and loss, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, career and vocational decisions, and finding a sense of purpose. He combines clients’ strengths and values with evidence-based therapeutic models and multimedia tools to facilitate insight, motivation, progress, and change.
Daniel offers virtual appointments at this time. He works with teens (ages 14 and up), young adults, and adults. He is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Person-Centered Counseling.
In his spare time, Daniel enjoys multimedia editing, listening to podcasts and YouTubers, watching movies, and discussing pop culture. He is always on the lookout for a movie, song, or television clip that can articulate a client’s struggle, illuminate truth, or provide comfort in their lives.
